The Art of Cosplay

Cosplay is more than putting on a costume. Every detail, from the clothing and makeup to the way someone moves in front of the camera, is part of bringing a character to life. I approach each portrait as a collaboration, using the setting, light and personality of the cosplayer to create photographs that feel like they belong within the world they're portraying.

What draws me to cosplay photography is the creativity behind it. Hours of work can go into creating a costume, perfecting a character and imagining how they should be represented. Photography gives all of that work a moment to exist beyond the convention or photoshoot, transforming something created with passion into its own piece of art.
