My Pricing Policy

I believe meaningful photography should be accessible without asking people to choose between preserving an important moment and what they can realistically afford. That’s why Solasflare Photography works on a sliding, pay-what-you-can scale designed to balance accessibility with the time, care and creative work that goes into every shoot.

Rather than setting different prices based on the type of event or session, my packages are based on the time you need. Within each hourly package, you can choose a price that reflects what is manageable for you. Everyone receives the same care, attention and commitment to their photographs, regardless of where they fall within the sliding scale.

This approach allows me to keep creating sustainable work while making professional photography available to more people, because art, memories and the opportunity to have your story documented shouldn’t be reserved only for those with the largest budgets.

How it Works

1. Choose how much time you need
My packages are based on the length of your session rather than the type of photography. Whether it’s a portrait session, cosplay shoot, event or celebration, simply choose the number of hours that best suits what you have planned.

2. Choose what you can comfortably pay
Each package has a sliding price range. You’re welcome to choose any amount within that range based on what is genuinely manageable for you. There’s no need to explain or justify your choice.

3. Your experience stays the same
The amount you choose does not change the care, creativity or attention I bring to your session. You’ll receive the same photography experience and quality of work regardless of where you sit within the sliding scale.

4. Your contribution keeps photography accessible
If you’re able to choose the higher end of the scale, your contribution helps support the time and work involved in running Solasflare Photography while allowing me to continue offering lower rates to people who need them.

5. Book your session
Once you’ve chosen your package and price, get in touch with your preferred date, location and what you have in mind. From there, we can plan the details and create something that feels like you.

For when one hour just isn’t quite enough. The Story gives us more time to let things unfold naturally, making it ideal for small events, intimate ceremonies, couples, cosplay or longer portrait sessions with room for different settings, ideas and moments along the way

Perfect for capturing something special without needing a full day of coverage. Whether it’s portraits, couples, cosplay, a small ceremony or a short event, The Moment gives us an hour to create a meaningful collection of photographs without feeling overcomplicated.

The Moment - 1 Hour

$250-$500

For the occasions and stories that deserve a little more time. The Chapter offers extended coverage for weddings, celebrations, larger events or creative shoots, giving me the space to capture both the important moments and everything that happens in between.

  • Can I combine packages?

    Absolutely. The packages are designed to be flexible, so you’re welcome to combine packages or hours to create the amount of coverage that works best for you. If you’re unsure how much time you’ll need, get in touch and we can work out the best combination for what you have planned.

  • Do I need to explain why I’ve chosen a certain price?

    Not at all. The sliding scale is based on trust, and you don’t need to provide any explanation or proof of your financial circumstances. Simply choose the amount within your package range that feels manageable for you.

  • Does paying less change what I receive?

    No. The price you choose within the sliding scale will never affect the care, time or attention given to your photography. Every booking receives the same approach and professionally edited photographs, regardless of where you choose to pay within the range.

  • What happens if I need more time on the day?

    Sometimes things run longer than planned, especially with events and celebrations. If I’m available to stay, additional time can be added using the same flexible hourly pricing approach. We’ll always discuss this with you first, so you won’t be surprised by an unexpected charge.

  • How many photos will I receive?

    Every session is different, so I don’t promise a fixed number of photographs. You’ll receive a carefully curated collection of the strongest images from your session, professionally edited and delivered in high resolution.

  • How will I receive my photos?

    Your finished photographs will be delivered through a private online gallery where you can view and download your high-resolution images and easily share them with friends and family.

  • Do you require a deposit to book?

    Yes. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking and reserve your date and time. The deposit isn’t an additional fee and will be deducted from your chosen sliding-scale total, with the remaining balance due on the day of your session.

  • What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

    I understand that plans can change and sometimes things come up unexpectedly. As long as at least 3 hours’ notice is provided, you’re welcome to cancel or reschedule your session. Please keep in mind that the $50 booking deposit is non-refundable.
