Wild Melbourne

Wildlife photography has taught me to notice the things that are easy to pass by. A bird resting beside the water, movement hidden among the leaves, or the smallest creatures tucked between flowers. Across Melbourne's wild spaces, zoos and sanctuaries, I've photographed the animals I've been fortunate enough to encounter, each with its own character and story.

The photographs I remember most aren't always the most dramatic ones. They're the moments when an animal pauses, looks back, settles into the light or simply carries on without noticing the camera. Wildlife rarely performs for us, and that's part of what draws me to photographing it. Every encounter is unpredictable, and every photograph becomes a small record of a moment that may never happen in quite the same way again.
